TPD EU DIRECTIVE MAY 2017 REGARDING THE SALE OF VAPE PENS, VAPE JUICE AND MORE

The Tobacco Products Directive was introduced in 2014 to protect and legislate the production and sale of all tobacco products in Europe including vape pens, vape juice and vape coils.  The tobacco industry falls under the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Authority (MHRA). We have obviously kept up with the EU directive and the law, which blankets anyone in Europe, and regardless of our Brexit status includes us, the bulk of the legislation came into effect for the UK last May.  Today we just want to give you the low down on a small change that will take effect in May 2017. (The small print can be found here – but as with all directive type documents it isn’t the most thrilling read!)

The biggest change is the tanks.  After May 2017 we will only be permitted to sell tanks of a 2ml maximum size.  E-liquids will only be sold in 10ml bottles or smaller.  All of the stock we hold will be subject to the EU directives which means that they will need to be certified and emission tested before we are able to sell them to you. But this is part is not something to concern our customers.

We are delighted to confirm that all our current brands like Kangertech, Joyetech and Cosmic Fog have already taken steps to ensure that all their products are compliant and we will work with them to continue to uphold this impeccable standard.  Anything that you buy from us is guaranteed to be the highest quality.  One thing we feel is good, is the new directives are also expensive for companies seeking compliance, which means you are protected from the cheaper and frankly low quality suppliers – stock that we would have always refused shelf space anyway.

So what does this actually mean for you today?

Basically you now have just a few months to stock up on any of the bigger size tanks or bottles of vape liquids before we can no longer sell them.  The big name suppliers we stock will of course no longer produce the bigger sized items either, but we are looking forward to a range of new and exciting product from them over 2017.
