Life’s getting more expensive every day, and it can be challenging for some people to keep up. There are things that the government has done, but something that a lot of people are asking them to do is cut the VAT for vaping products from 20% to 5%.
A lot of people, ourselves included, would argue that this could be an excellent way to help people get access to the products that they need without having to worry about whether or not they can afford to do so. We’ll be looking at what’s on offer to make sure that everyone understands what’s going on.
VAT – The Unfortunate Necessity
When it comes to VAT, it’s one of those things which we all pay and deal with. It’s not the most pleasant thing, but it has a definite purpose in making sure that businesses generate enough money to survive.
However, the Local Government Association (LGA) has recently called for the VAT surrounding vaping to be slashed down from 20% to 5%. They argue that this would bring the VAT on these products down to align with nicotine gum and patches.
Why?
Current government legislation is designed to allow anything which can be seen as helping to cut the risk of smoking or encouraging people to quit to have a VAT of 5%.
Making vaping products more accessible to people is thought to be an excellent way to make sure that when it comes to smoking, there is a legal, safer way to avoid conventional cigarettes. These products are, of course, loaded with harmful chemicals.
The idea is that cutting the VAT will help more people make the switch. This is something we’d love to see because we’re all about helping people to see what’s so good about vaping.
Hope for the Future
If these conversations are taking place, then there’s hope for the future of vaping, and it’ll give people even more chances to pick up e-cigs. We’ve made our dislike of cigarettes evident in the past – we don’t like how many diseases and cancers they cause.
Making vaping products more affordable can be great for anyone trying to get the best results. We’d be more than happy to help bring the costs down, and having a legal requirement to do so would make it much easier to mandate.
Final Thoughts
So ultimately, the call to slash VAT by 15% is something that we would love to see take place for various reasons. We’ve never been the biggest fan of regular cigarettes, and for good reasons. We’d love to see e-cigs do even better. Here at Infinite Vapour, we have a range of products for people to take a look at, including kits, mods, devices, accessories, and e-liquids. There is something for everyone on offer, and we’re happy to help people figure out what they want from their experiences. After all, the more accessible we can make vaping for people, the better.
