Now, this is a move which a lot of people just can’t understand. India does have a very bad track record for deaths which are caused by the smoke and tar which come from the cigarettes, so you would think that a decrease in the number of deaths would be a welcome change.

But Why Is Vaping Being Banned?

A lot of people are understandably concerned and confused. Why is vaping being banned when we know it to be a viable alternative to smoking which is not as bad for you? What people have come to find is that there is a lot of money to be made by people who do not want to vape to go. The government in India is a prime example of this. The taxation rates on tobacco-related products are among some of the highest in the world within the country, which means that there’s a lot of money to be made when people continue to smoke.

Furthermore, there’s also a problem which exists within the economy of the country. What not everyone may know is that India is one of the biggest producers of tobacco in the world, with a lot of the land in the country being used for the growth of entire fields of the plant, which is then used to make tobacco that goes into cigarettes. To crack down on smoking would be to risk upsetting the livelihood of thousands, which is partially what has tied the hands of the government.

Overall, the vaping situation in India is looking unsteady, so it is perhaps wise to avoid going there shortly.
